Configure SMS Gateway

This tutorial helps an authorized operator such as an administrator to configure a short messaging service and manage it. Using this messaging service, the Unifyia platform delivers SMS messages on registered mobile phone numbers when relevant events are triggered.

The Unifyia platform currently supports Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS). Once configured, all the SMS messages to users are channeled through the configured SMS provider.

NOTE
You can add only one SMS gateway at a time. To add a new service provider, you must first delete the existing SMS gateway.

Amazon SNS

Follow the below steps to add Amazon SNS.

  1. Log in to the platform.
  2. On the Dashboardpage, navigate to Configuration > Notification Providers.
  3. Select + Add Provider > Add SMS Gateway.
  4. SMS Provider: Select the Amazon SNS (SMS provider) option from the list.
  5. Provider Name: Enter a provider name to refer to this configuration in the platform.
  6. Access Key: Enter the access key provided by the SMS provider.
  7. Secret Key: Enter the secret key provided by the SMS provider.
  8. Region: From the drop-down list, select the region of your SMS provider, which is the region you chose when setting up your SMS provider account.
  9. Contact Number: Provide the contact number of a recipient.
  10. Select Test SMS Configuration to test if the connection is established. If the platform displays the confirmation message and the recipient has received the SMS, the connection is successfully established.

Manage SMS Gateway

  1. Log in to the Unifyia platform.
  2. On the Dashboardpage, navigate to Configuration > Notification Providers. The configured email and SMS service provider are displayed.
  3. To disable an SMS service provider, slide the toggle button under the status column to the left side. To enable a role, slide the toggle button to the right side. Once you disable the provider,
  4. To edit an SMS service provider, select the pencil The page to edit the SMS service provider settings is displayed. Edit the details as required and select Update to save the changes.
  5. To delete an SMS service provider, select the Bin icon and select Yes to confirm or No to exit the process.
